The Isle of Wight does not have so many petrol stations, especially out west, so do not get caught short while travelling around and going off the beaten track.
Check the link below to see where they are all located, bearing in mind that the supermarkets are generally cheaper.
There is also an independent petrol station (not listed on the map) in Freshwater opposite the Co op if you are over in the wild wild West!

Greyhound buses have joined with Hovertravel and Southern Vectis to offer a revolutionary through ticket between London Victoria and anywhere on the Isle of Wight.
Buy any Greyhound ticket between London and the Isle of Wight and included in the price is a single Hovertravel crossing between Southsea and Ryde, plus a Southern Vectis bus ticket to or from Ryde and anywhere on their Isle of Wight network.
The total journey time between Ryde and London is under 3 hours.
Ticket prices start from an amazing £14 each way plus a 50p booking fee.
If you book early enough and off peak you can get £5 each way deals. Keep an eye on their website for these as they get snapped up really quickly. I am informed that around the end of January the next dates will be released for the £5 deals for travel April onwards.

The twin bore tunnel running under the Devil's Punch Bowl cost £371m which has taken 4 and a half years to complete opens this week within budget and ahead of schedule.
The structure is 1.25 mile long (1.8km) and now forms part of the London to Portsmouth A3 at Hindhead and is the longest under road tunnel in Britain. This will shorten visitors' journey time to the Isle of Wight by 30 minutes!
Many of Wight Locations 7,000 self catering guests take the A3 route to catch the ferry so you will now be able to have a more stress free journey to your accommodation!
The project followed a 30-year campaign for improvements to the Hindhead traffic bottleneck, and the tunnel will be used by 30,000 vehicles a day.
The original A3 will be closed to through traffic and acres of protected land returned to heathland with 200,000 new trees and shrubs to be planted.

Southern Vectis is the most green bus company in the UK, and have a very comprehensive fluid service covering the island.
