Spring is finally on the way, the daffodils are out and blossom blooming. March is a lovely time of year for a Spring break, making the most of the quiet time before Easter. Here’s our list of island activities in March.
Ben Fogle; Tales from the Wilderness on Monday 2nd March - Taking place at Shanklin Theatre, join Ben for an evening of storytelling and adventure. With stories from travels including Mount Everest and Antarctica, this fascinating journey will be enjoyable for all.
Spinnaker Tower Challenge on Saturday 14th March – Now we know this isn’t strictly taking place on the island but, if you fancy a challenge then it’s really easy to catch the ferry to Portsmouth to take part. And what a challenge this is! A 100 metre abseil down the side of this iconic landmark and, if you’re brave enough you can even sleep overnight at the top of the tower. Discovery Bay; Dinosaur Isle, Sandown on Monday 15th March – It’s British Science Week and here at Dinosaur Isle there’s a day of scientific discovery and natural history. Taking place in the Education Room the event is free but you will need to pay the usual fees for entry to the museum.
Mothers Day Special Sunday 22nd March; Treat mum to something different this mothers’ day with a trip on the IOW Steam Railway. Each mum will receive a special posy of spring flowers.
