Useful Info |
How do I make a booking?
When you have decided on the property that you are interested in, either
complete the online enquiry form, letting us know what dates you wish to book,
and we will contact you to simply confirm availability, or phone us on 0870 080
2950 and we will be pleased to help. Alternatively please email us your
requirements and we will respond within 24 hours with a shortlist of properties
to suit your needs.
In order to make a booking we will need the lead name of the party, a full
postal address and contact phone numbers. Also if you have it, an e-mail
address is useful.
What do I need to pay when making a booking?
Once you have requested a booking, we will send you a booking contract which
the party leader needs to sign and complete. This then needs to be returned to
us within 7 days, together with a cheque for £225 to secure your booking. Payment may be made by cheque, bankers draft, cash, bacs (bank details:
Lloyds Bank, sort code 30-95-99, account no. 02295358– stating surname and
booking reference) or payment can be made by credit/debit card by phoning the office.
Bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival must be paid for in full at the time of
booking.
When we receive your contract, we will then double check all the details and
sign the contract on the owner’s behalf.
When is my holiday confirmed?
Once we receive your signed contract, we will then sign this on the owner’s
behalf and return it to you. It is only at this point, when Wight Locations Ltd
signs your contract, that the booking is confirmed.
Are there any other costs involved?
Yes, we require a fully refundable security deposit per property booked. This
is typically £200, but some of our properties require a higher deposit of £300.
This is held in case of damage to the property, but please see our full terms
and conditions for actions that may result in loss of deposit. There is also a £25 booking fee per property.
When do I need to pay the remaining balance of my holiday?
The full balance is payable not less than 6 weeks prior to your arrival date.
Late payment will result in an administration charge of £25 and may
result in the cancellation of your holiday and forfeiture of all monies paid.
What time is check-in?
Check-in is at 3.30 pm . Although we will endeavour to have properties ready
earlier than this we cannot guarantee check-in prior to this time.
Details of key collection will be sent to you upon full payment.
Will the property be cleaned prior to my arrival?
All properties are checked between lets. It is however the outgoing tenant’s
responsibility to leave the property in a clean and tidy state. If, when we check the property, extra cleaning is required we will
undertake this and the cost will be deducted from the outgoing tenants’
deposit. Cleaning is charged at £10 per hour. Cleaning can be pre-arranged with
Wight Locations Ltd should it be required during your stay or on departure.
What time must I check out?
Check-out is 10.00 am . Keys should be returned to our offices in Seaview at
this time. Late check out will result in a fixed penalty of £50. Should a
late check-out hinder our being able to prepare the property for tenants
arriving that day, this will result in a loss of deposit.
Do I need to clean the property on departure?
We expect tenants to leave the property in a clean and tidy state. We will check the property after your departure and if we think extra
cleaning is required this will be done and deducted from your deposit. Cleaning
is charged at £10 per hour.
Is linen provided at the property?
Many of our holiday homes do not provide linen or towels. Where it
is provided and this will be clearly indicted in the property description.
We do provide a linen hire service and an order form will come with your
contract. This must be pre-ordered when you make your booking and paid for with
the balance of your holiday.
How many people can stay at the property?
The sleeping capacity shown in the property details is the maximum capacity
allowed at that property. Please note that, unless stated in the property
details, infants under 2 do not count in the party numbers.
What facilities are at the property?
All our properties vary hugely in equipment provided but there is a minimum
inventory to which all properties must adhere. Please refer to the individual
property details to find a description of the facilities at that property. If
there is something that you consider essential to your requirements, we suggest
you call us and we will be happy to advise suitable properties.
Do any properties have disabled access?
We have a few properties that could be suitable for disabled access. Please
telephone the office to discuss you requirements and we will be happy to help.
Can we bring our dog with us on holiday?
Only a handful of our properties accept pets so if this is important to you,
please either call the office or use our advanced search facility to find
pet-friendly properties.
Where a property accepts pets, arrangements must be first agreed with Wight
Locations prior to making the booking and only pets listed on the booking
agreement will be allowed. Please note there is limits of 2 dogs per property
but no extra charges apply.
I am travelling with an infant, are cots or high chairs provided?
Some of our properties provide cots and high chairs and this will be listed
under facilities within the property details. Where these are not provided,
hire is available from Wight Locations but cots and high chairs should be
requested when making your booking. We provide good quality large travel cots
at £20/week or part week and wooden high chairs with 5 point harness at
£15/week or part week.
Can you help with travel arrangements to the Island ?
Yes, we are able to book travel on car ferries on your behalf with either
WightLink or Red Funnel. We are very competitive and can usually beat their
online booking prices. A form for travel requirements will be sent with your
contract. Just fill in the details and we will do the rest!
Can I book a short break or do I have to take the full week?
We are able to offer 2, 3 or 4 night short breaks at most of our properties at
certain times of the year. Generally during peak season (i.e. school holidays)
full week bookings are required. Short breaks in this period are only offered
where there are vacancies within 10 days of arrival.
When will my security deposit be returned?
We aim to return all deposits within 10 working days from the date of departure
and a payment will be sent to the lead name on the contract.
What happens if I need to cancel my holiday?
All cancellations must be put in writing to Wight Locations Ltd. We strongly
recommend that you take adequate holiday insurance when booking your holiday,
as cancellation charges will apply to all cancelled holidays. Please see our
terms and conditions for a full breakdown of cancellation charges.
Can you recommend a travel insurance plan?
Yes, please visit www.cancellationplan.com
for information and to arrange immediate cover. Please make sure when asked
where you heard about them that you select Wight Locations from the drop down
list. Thank you.
