Arrivals & Departures
The arrival and departure day for full week bookings is usually Friday or Saturday, but the start date will be clearly shown under each property description. Short breaks, where applicable, can usually start on any day of the week.
In order that properties can be fully prepared between guests, properties are available from 3.30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. You will receive full details of directions & key arrangements once you have paid the full balance of the holiday.
Short Breaks
Short breaks, from 2 to 5 nights, are available at many of our properties year round, with the exception of school holidays where bookings are usually for full weeks only. For certain Island events, surcharges to short break prices may apply.
Prices & Payments
Prices for each property are per week and are shown in the property description. Our rental rates fall into 5 bands. The price shown is the rental cost including the Cancellation Protection premium. An initial payment of 30% of the rental cost together with a £25 booking fee is due on all bookings, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. Please note that we make a charge of 2.5% for payment by credit card but make no charge for payment by debit card.
Bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Security Deposits
We require a security deposit of £200 (unless stated otherwise by WL or shown on the property details) against damage/ excess cleaning on all bookings. With the confirmation of a booking the Guest authorises Wight Location to securely retain their credit or debit card details, to cover this deposit, pending clearance of the property by the housekeeper or owner following the Guests departure.
Electricity & Heating
Unless otherwise stated, electricity and heating are normally included in the rental cost. Short breaks during the winter months may incur a 'fuel surcharge' dependant on the property and duration of let.
Ferry Bookings
We can arrange competitively priced ferry crossings on your behalf with both Red Funnel and WightLink. Ferry crossings are not included in the rental price.
Linen & Towels
In many of our properties linen is provided free of charge and this will be indicated under the property description. Where linen is not provided there will be pillows and duvets for your use and linen hire can usually be arranged on your behalf. Please note that some bedding may be feather or down, therefore should you have specific allergies please contact the office and we will try to help. Personal towels and tea towels are not always provided. Bed sizes are standard (single 3', double 4'6", king 5') unless otherwise stated.
Pets
A number of our properties accept pets on request and this will be clearly shown under the property details. There is an additional charge of £20 per pet per week/ short break at these properties and limited to a maximum of 2 pets per property. Pets must be kept under control and not left alone in the property at any time. Pets are not permitted in any bedrooms or on any furniture. You are required to provide you own bedding, bowls, etc for you pet and at the end of your holiday you must remove all traces of the pet from the house and garden. Bookings including pets are accepted on the understanding that all flea and worming treatments are up to date. Please note that even if a property is let as 'no pets allowed', this does not necessarily mean that the property has never been occupied by pets. Please speak to our Team if you have allergies and we can ensure the property has been pet free.
Cleaning
All our properties are checked between lets and left ready for your arrival. It is your responsibility on departure to leave the property, including all equipment & utensils, clean and tidy. Any additional cleaning required following your stay will be charged against your security deposit.
Sleeping Capacity
The sleeping capacity shown is the maximum number of people allowed at the property. Where properties have additional beds or sofa beds, the extra number of people these accommodate will be shown as +1 or +2. In no circumstances may more than this number of persons occupy the property.
Alterations to Bookings
We cannot accept a change of holiday property once we have received your payment. It is occasionally possible to alter the dates of your booking for the same property, provided it is not less than 6 weeks prior to arrival and the property is available. In such instances, we will confirm the change in writing and an administrative charge of £40 will be due.
Cots & Highchairs
Where cots and highchairs are available at properties this will be shown under the property facilities. Where these are not available, we are able to offer a limited number of travel cots and wooden highchairs for hire within the areas of Ryde, Seaview, St Helens & Bembridge only. We will confirm availability on request.
Parking
Where available this will be stated in the description. If private parking is not available, there is usually street or permit parking nearby. Tourist Parking permits can be obtained through the Isle of Wight council. For details call 01983 823714 or speak to our team.
Visit Britain star ratings
Many of our properties have been inspected by Visit Britain and have received an official star rating. Where a property has a rating, this will be clearly shown. In simple terms the more stars the higher the overall level of quality you can expect to find. Where a property has no stars, this does not mean it has failed to achieve a star rating; it is purely that this property has either not yet been rated or chosen not to partake in this scheme. All such properties have been inspected by Wight Locations to assess their suitability for letting.

Our Website & Online Bookings
Our office is open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays, however our website is available 24 hours a day and includes up to date availability on all our properties. You can check availability, shortlist your favourite properties or book your holiday online. If you need help or advice then please contact our sales team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Smoking
Smoking is NOT permitted inside any of our properties.
