This summer, there will be plenty of family adventures taking place on the Isle of Wight, which are themed around the best-selling children’s book ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’.

Throughout the year the Isle of Wight will be hosting some special exciting outdoor adventures. Highlights include a series of National Trust Bear Hunt Adventure Weekends where families can follow a Bear Hunt trail and claim their free “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” sticker… you may even see the Bear! Other events include a Bear Hunt Weekend at Robin Hill and a Bear Hunt themed Isle of Wight Children’s Literary Festival in October supported by Walker Books.

You may have recently seen a half hour animated special on channel four, produced by Lupus Films & Walker productions. Inspired by the best-selling classic picture book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, The book was first published by Walker Books almost 30 years ago and has sold over 11 million copies worldwide.

You’ll be able to find out all about the Bear Hunt activities by popping into the Visitor Information Centre in Newport, or by taking a look at the event website.
You can also pick up a free Isle of Wight Bear Hunt adventure guide from ferry terminals and from various points across the Island including Tourist Information Points from April onwards.
