The West Wight Brighstone annual Christmas Tree Festival is now in its 19th year and is a real attraction for locals and visitors at this festive time of the year. Held from 10-13 December over 180 themed Christmas trees are erected over seven different locations in Brightstone village and surrounding areas.

The Christmas Tree Festival can add a new location to its list of display venues in 2015 as Isle of Wight Pearl on the Military Road is joining in the fun and opening its large conservatory to the public for the event. Located next to the Pearl's cafe you're encouraged to view the trees and then pop next door for a free cup of mulled wine (and perhaps an early Christmas treat for yourself - what's not to like about pearls!).

The rest of the display locations remain unchanged and we list them here for your convenience: St Mary's church, the Wilberforce hall, the Reading Rooms/Social Club, and The 'Three Bishops' Public House, all in Brighstone village; in St Peter and St Paul's church in neighbouring Mottistone.

If you have kids in tow they might want to enter into the Children's Mini Christmas Tree competition. Harness their inner creative genius and explore their ideas on how to decorate their tree - perhaps choose from a favourite author, fictional character or colour. 2 ft trees can be bought from Brighstone library and have to be returned for judging by 8 December. Let the craft commence!

For those wanting a more relaxing experience, let the Christmassy feelings prevail as you survey the bright lights and inhale the evergreen aromas. Stop for a steaming bowl of homemade soup or treat yourself to a cake or biscuit with a brew. Take the family and enjoy a festive few hours together at this unique event.
