East Cowes holiday cottages

East Cowes is based on the east bank of the River Medina on the northern side of the Island. Having undergone a recent redevelopment program, it now offers a pretty marina and various shops including a good size Waitrose. Across the river is Cowes, easily accessed by cars & foot passengers alike via the chain ferry, with its vast marina, restaurants and shops.

 

East Cowes is best knows as the location of Queen Victoria's summer residence, Osborne House. Built around 1845, it was reputed to be the Queen & Prince Albert's favourite home, open year round to the public it is well worth a visit.
