From artisan stalls at historic houses to festive tearooms, Christmas on the Isle of Wight is rather special. Christmas lights shower the towns in festive lights and colours, while pubs put on quite the seasonal spread.

Of course, one of the great yuletide joys is ambling round a Christmas market, mulled wine in hand. Local crafters offer the perfect stocking fillers, while street food vendors ensure the air smells of cinnamon-dusted doughnuts. 

Whether you are looking for a unique gift for someone special or planning to take the little ones to see Father Christmas, these Christmas markets on the Isle of Wight have lots going on.

 

The Garlic Farm

Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of December

Found deep in the heart of the Island, The Garlic Farm is renowned for its fabulous collection of home-grown condiments, gifts, plants and, of course, garlic galore! From Saturday the 8th of November until Wednesday the 24th of December, the I Love Wight Pop UP Christmas Shop will be offering all things Christmas in the magnificent Allium Barn, the perfect opportunity to shop for those quirky, unusual gifts. The I Love Wight Christmas Market on the 6th and 7th promises artisan stalls and musical entertainment to really get you in the festive spirit.

While you are there, call in to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea - the perfect Christmas treat!

 

Briddlesford Christmas Market

Friday the 7th to Sunday the 8th of December

Renowned for serving the best breakfast on the Isle of Wight, Briddlesford is also home to a fabulous Christmas market. With a great selection of artisan Island suppliers selling crafts and gifts, this is the ideal opportunity to stock up ahead of the big day. Bluebells Café will also be open, serving a wonderfully festive array of food and drink.

 

Northwood House

Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of November

Northwood House will be bursting with Christmas joy and showcasing over 50 local exhibitors selling all things crafty. The Christmas tearoom will be serving a festive feast, and Father Christmas will be on hand in his snow cave, where children can write him a letter, with photo opportunities for parents. And look out for Santa Paws, too! Free to enter, this festive treat at Northwood House welcomes all the family.

  

Bembridge Sailing Club

Saturday the 22nd of November

Visit the beautiful village of Bembridge in November for a chance to shop at the Mountbatten Gift Fair, a beloved annual Christmas market on the Isle of Wight. This year, the fair will enjoy a new home at the Minster Church of St Thomas. Entry free from 10am until 3pm, with access to a range of boutique stalls from the mainland. For a special treat, attend the special preview night on Friday from 6pm. Tickets are £25 and include wine and canapes!
